Eastec 2007 Wrap-up
We don't have final data from
the show yet, but the attendance looked to us like
it was similar to 2006, putting it at 14,000-15,000
visitors. Eastec is interesting
because SME, the host organization, claims that only
1% of Eastec visitors go to the IMTS show. In other
words, these are new faces we do not see at many
other of our shows.
The New England
market appears to be a bit polarized in that it is
largely made up of smaller manufacturers who produce
higher volumes of small precision parts, but at the
same time you have the aerospace and
shipbuilding components whose needs are
primarily large scale. Helmel finds a strong
reception for the Phoenix and Microgage product lines.
The new Microgage raised the eyebrows of almost all
who came by. At first it is about being so small,
but people quickly recognize that the size makes
terrific sense for dedicated small part and process
applications, in keeping with our "programmable
fixture" theme.
We have much to
work on and orders to close as a result of the show,
and we are looking forward to participating again in
2008.

"Time to Service
your CMM"
Your CMM needs periodic attention by a qualified service
engineer to ensure it delivers the results you expect.
The demand on the CMM to deliver accurate reported
values day after day and year after year often is taken
for granted. Most organizations don't check the
accuracy of the CMM on a regular basis instead they rely
on outside services to "validate" the CMM accuracy. This
can often lead to erroneous results as most services
that support many brands can not be experts on any
brand.
No matter what CMM brand you own, it is suggested to
have the factory perform periodic service to ensure it
meets the standards and prevent potential liability
issues. To have your Helmel CMM serviced and maintained
to it's highest standard, contact our
service department at (716) 297-8644 or
request information here.
